BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Buffalo State men's soccer team got back in the win column, scoring early and often in a 6-1 victory over Alfred from Coyer Field Tuesday evening.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Musa Abdulla (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Jamal Belarj (Medford, N.Y./Longwood) tallied their second goals of the season.
- Theo Pencic (Oslo, Norway/Heltberg) tallied a brace, scoring his team-leading 10th and 11th goal of the season.
- Hosa Omar (Buffalo, N.Y./Lackawanna) and Ion Croitor (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) scored their first goals as Bengals.
- Saleman Salim (Nairobi, Kenya/Hutch Tech), Agastya Dharamarj (Bangalore, India/Inventure Academy), Zak Shaibi (Buffalo, N.Y./McKinley), Riley Quinn (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster), and Moe Saif (Lackawanna, N.Y./Coppell (Texas)) each tallied an assist.
- Max Shoemaker (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Wheatfield) made two saves, picking up his sixth victory of the season.
- Buffalo State out shot Alfred by a 28-6 margin.
- The Bengals have now won six consecutive games against the Saxons, as they now hold a 7-3 advantage all-time.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- 'State struck in the third minute, as the Bengals sprinted up the field following the goal kick. Dharamarj struck a well-placed ball to Abdulla on the right side, as he slotted a low shot to the right of Alfred keeper Robert Mann.
- Aggressive play by the Bengals led to the second goal in the 30th minute, as Pencic, receiving the ball deep in Alfred territory from a Saif feed, got past a defender to his left and finished left.
- The Bengals made it 3-0 just after halftime, as Salim, while regaining possession at midfield in the 60th minute, launched a long through ball to Belarj, who got past the defense and fired a low shot past the keeper.
- Alfred got on the board following the corner kick in the 66th minute, as Christian Moon's feed was originally shot by Gavin Harrington, who's shot was deflected by Shoemaker and corralled by Connor Scriven, who bounced the rebound into net.
- Buffalo State increased the lead in the 78th minute, as the team's two leading scorers, Shaibi and Pencic, connected for a goal. Shaibi, in front of net, found Pencic in a crowd, as the senior blasted the ball into net.
- The fifth goal came exactly two minutes later, as Hamza, on his third touch of the game, found Omar on the right side, as he took a high shot past the goalie to his right.
- Quinn and Croitor closed the scoring in the 89th minute, as Quinn's feed was deflected by the goalie, but bounced to Croitor in front of net, who tapped in the simple chance.

- Scriven's goal was his first of the season.
- Harrington and Moon each tallied their first assists of the season.
- Mann made six saves in the first 45 minutes of action, while Daniel Koenig came on in the second half, also making six saves.
