BUFFALO, N.Y.— The Buffalo State volleyball team will finish the home portion of the schedule this weekend, as it hosts SUNYAC foes New Paltz and Oneonta from the Buffalo State Sports Arena on Friday and Saturday.
The Bengals (7-8, 2-3 SUNYAC) will host New Paltz (8-8, 3-0 SUNYAC) on Friday at 6 p.m., before wrapping the weekend with a visit from Oneonta (3-12, 2-1 SUNYAC) Saturday at 1 p.m.
Friday's contest against New Paltz will be played in honor of University at Buffalo volleyball player Monika Simkova, who is currently fighting for her life in the Intensive Care unit due to an unknown illness. For those who wish to donate, please do so here:

The Bengals will also honor their senior classes of 2020 and 2021 before the contests this weekend. On Friday, Buffalo State will honor 2021 graduate
Brooke Federko (Jamestown, N.Y./Jamestown) and current senior
Kayla Wolinski (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster). On Saturday, the Bengals will honor seniors
Brielle Bagozzi (Syracuse, N.Y./Solvay) and
Liz Schultheis (Holley, N.Y./Brockport).
Buffalo State sits in playoff position, sixth place in the SUNYAC volleyball standings with four games to go. Last weekend, the Bengals fell to Potsdam by a 3-1 margin, before rallying with a 3-2 victory over Plattburgh.
Jenna Hugenschmidt (Clarence Center, N.Y./Clarence) tallied 32 digs, nine assists, and eight service aces over the weekend, earning Bengal Athlete of the Week honors this past Monday.
New Paltz is a perfect 3-0 in SUNYAC play, defeating Oneonta, Plattsburgh, and Potsdam. The Hawks split a pair of matches last Saturday, defeating Hunter 3-2 before falling to Kean, 3-1. New Paltz holds a 12-4 series advantage over the Bengals and have won the last six matches.
Oneonta is 2-1 in SUNYAC action, sitting in a tie for fourth place in the standings. After suffering a sweep by New Paltz, the Red Dragons defeated Potsdam and Plattsburgh. Last weekend, Oneonta hosted a tri-match, losing to Vassar in five sets and Alfred in three. Oneonta has won the last five matches and holds a 10-4 all-time series lead.
