BUFFALO, N.Y.— Katie Villarini (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) tallied her 1,000th career point, finishing with a career-high 31 points as the Buffalo State women's basketball team blew by Pitt-Bradford by an 85-48 margin Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Panthers held an early 4-1 advantage in the first two minutes, but the Bengals went on a 10-0 run to take a seven-point lead midway through the period.
- UPB cut the deficit to three (18-15), but the Bengals scored eight points in the final 58 seconds, including a last-second 3-pointer by Josie Fleming (Clarence, NY/Clarence) as the Bengals led by 11 (26-15) after one.
- 'State started to heat up from the field, as the team led by 20 (43-23) at the 4:36 mark after a James jumper.
- The Panthers brought the deficit to 17 in the last seconds of the half, as Ashley Hall scored on a running layup in the paint with less than one second left.
- After scoring 18 points in the first half, and needing 20 to reach 1,000 career points, Villarini hit the barrier with a jumper from the top of the key off the dribble at the 6:35 mark.
- The milestone basket was part of a massive 18-2 Buffalo State run, as it stretched its lead to 36, at 71-35.
- Pitt-Bradford finished the quarter with four consecuitive points, including a buzzer-beating layup by Cailey Barnett as the Bengals led, 75-42.
- With the benches emptied for the fourth quarter, the Bengals stayed solid on defense, limiting the Panthers to six points on 1-of-19 shooting from the field to run away with the 37-point victory.

- Barnett led Pitt-Bradford with a 14-point, 18-rebound double-double.
- Daizjah Brown added eight points.
- Pitt-Bradford shot just 19 percent (15-of-79) from the field in the loss.
