Men’s basketball drops SUNYAC opener at Oswego, 79-63

OSWEGO, NY – Four Oswego players scored in double figures, leading a balanced attack as the Buffalo State men's basketball team began SUNYAC play with a 79-63 loss to Oswego Friday evening.

  • Four consecutive free throws by Adams brought the deficit down to six, at 11-5.
  • Up seven, Jamal Achille's and-one basket sparked a 9-2 run, as the Lakers led by double-digits.
  • The Lakers led by as many as 20 in the first half after an Ahkee Anderson layup gave them a 33-13 lead.
  • The Bengals ended the period on a Philbert Weekes (Brooklyn, NY/Lafayette) buzzer-beater, as he scored in the paint as Oswego led 41-25 at the half.
  • Oswego extended its lead to as many as 22 points (66-44) midway through the second half.
  • With the benches emptied near the tail end of the game, Jeremiah Miller (Clinton, MD/Grace Brethren Christian) hit a pair of 3-pointers for his first points as a Bengal.

  • Julien Crittendon led the Lakers with 14 points and six rebounds.
