CANTON, NY – Canton struck with four first-period goals, as the Buffalo State women's hockey team returned to NEWHL action with a 5-0 loss to the Roos Friday afternoon.

- Canton got on the board 32 seconds in, as Verity Lewis and Desiree Snook assisted on a Micayla MacIntyre goal.
- Nearly two minutes later, Halle McKinnon doubled the margin, scoring on a feed by Snook and Kelly Leathem.
- Lewis and Iida Laitinen then scored later in the period, as the Roos took a 4-0 lead into the first intermission.
- Canton kept that momentum into the second period, as Sarah Kosnaskie scored the lone goal of the frame after a pair of stops by the Buffalo State defense.
- Both teams were scoreless in the final period, as the Bengals held the Roos to four shots on goal in the period.
FOR THE FOES
- Five different Canton players scored a goal.
- Snook and Karena Barrett each tallied two assists to lead the Roos.
- Sirena Alvarez turned away all five shots to earn the shutout in net.
