Buffalo State is excited to recognize 98 varsity student-athletes who have earned the distinction of "Buffalo State Scholar-Athlete" for the 2020-21 academic year by maintaining a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for at least three semesters. The recognition is part of the NCAA's DIII Week initiative designed to increase awareness of NCAA Division III Athletics.
The 98 student-athletes honored represented 54-percent of the total number of student-athletes eligible for the recognition, having been at Buffalo State for at least three semesters. Among the honorees were 47 that have maintained a 3.50 GPA or higher. Four student-athletes have maintained perfect 4.0 GPAs: sophomores
Parker Allison (men's hockey),
Sarah Jackson (women's hockey) and
Emily Jason (women's cross country/track), and senior
Troy Button (men's hockey).
