BUFFALO, N.Y.— Senior forward
Theo Pencic (Oslo, Norway/Heltberg) of the Buffalo State men's soccer team earned plaudits from the SUNYAC, as he was named the league's PrestoSports Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Sept. 20.
Pencic earned the honor after leading the Bengals with two goals, leading Buffalo State to a pair of victories last week. Pencic's penalty kick in the 78th minute was the difference in Buffalo State's 1-0 victory at Fisher on Tuesday, and he opened the scoring with a goal in the Bengals' 3-2 victory at Grove City Saturday.
Pencic has scored a goal in each of the last four games of Buffalo State's five-game winning streak. He currently leads the team with four goals and two assists for 10 points on the season.
The Bengals (5-1) will open the home portion of the schedule on Tuesday, as they take on Medaille from Coyer Field at 7 p.m. The Bengals will then wrap up the week with a conference-opening clash with rival Fredonia at home on Saturday.
