BUFFALO, N.Y. – Freshman midfielder
Musa Abdulla (Lackawana, N.Y.) struck with the game-winning goal in the 81st minute, lifting the Buffalo State men's soccer team to its sixth consecutive win, a hotly-contested 2-1 decision over local rival Medaille in non-league action from Coyer Field Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State took advantage of a corner opportunity, as a well-placed kick from Pencic found Salim as he rose above the Medaille defense, heading the chance past Medaille goalkeeper David Mighten in the 22nd minute.
- The Bengal defense stopped a pair of Medaille chances, including a parry by senior defender Trevor Moreland (Newfane, N.Y./Newfane) in the 34th minute off a corner kick.
- Medaille tied the game at one in the 74th minute, as Solomon Konesky received a long through ball from Charlie Stewart – his first shot was stopped by Shoemaker, but he grabbed the rebound and knocked it into the open net.
- Buffalo State scored seven minutes later, taking advantage of a free kick as Pencic found an open Abdulla, who headed the opportunity over the goalkeeper into net.
- Medaille nearly equalized in the 85th minute, as an Ander Castillo shot was pushed away at the goal line by sophomore forward Riley Quinn (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster)
- The Bengals, a man down after the Abdulla red card in the 86th minute, held on in the final minutes for the hard-fought victory.
