FREDONIA, NY — Buffalo State men's basketball fell short in a second half comeback bid against Fredonia on Friday evening, falling on the road 82-75.

· DaRon Hughey (Hartford, CT/The Masters School) led the Bengals with 24 points, shooting 8-16 from the field and 4-8 from 3-point range.
· Philbert Weekes (Brooklyn, NY/Lafayette) tallied 18 points and 26 rebounds.
· Aaron Davis (Beacon, NY/Beacon) chipped in eight points and eight assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
· The teams traded baskets early in the first half, with Fredonia beginning to build a lead around the midway point of the half after an 8-0 run.
· The Blue Devils held Buffalo State to 12-38 shooting from the field in the first half.
· The Blue Devils drained seven of 14 3-point attempts to take a 45-30 lead into halftime.
· Coming out of the second half, the Bengals used a 10-0 run to cut the deficit to 45-40 before the Blue Devils responded to build the lead back over ten.
· After a Fredonia technical foul, Hughey and Weekes made four consecutive free throws, and a layup by Robert Richards (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) after a steal cut the Buffalo State deficit down to one.
· Buffalo State cut the lead to one possession multiple times, but were never able to tie or take the lead in the second half.
· The Blue Devils were 20-26 from the charity stripe in the second half to ice the game.

· Aaron Collins led Fredonia with 28 points.
