Women's Hockey Bounces Back with Win Over Neumann

ASTON, PA – The Buffalo State women's hockey team bounced back from a defeat at the hands of Neumann last night, knocking off the Knights 4-2 on Saturday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
  • Vanessa Willick (Williamsville, NY/Buffalo Bisons) scored for the fourth consecutive game for Buffalo State.
  • Madi Digges (Madison, AL/St. Louis Jr. Blues), Lilli Adimey (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Bisons), and Katie Sarich (Columbia, MD/Washington Pride) also netted goals for the Bengals.
  • Buffalo State took advantage of three Neumann penalties, scoring two power-play goals.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Six minutes into the game, Digges netted her second goal of the season on the power play to give Buffalo State a 1-0 advantage.
  • The lead lasted just three minutes, as the Knights equalized shortly after on a goal by Brigitte Maikisch.
  • Neumann tallied a second goal in the period to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
  • Willick's team-high sixth goal of the season came on the power play off an assist from Angelina Cruzal (Campbell, CA/San Jose Jr. Sharks)
  • Sarich netted the game-winning goal with just under six minutes remaining in the third period, and Adimey added an empty-net goal for insurance in the final minute.

  • Meg Landman netted the other Neumann goal.
 
UP NEXT
The Bengals are done for the fall semester, and will return to the ice in the New Year on January 6 against Canton.
