BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State lacrosse fell 23-2 to Cortland in their final game of the season on Saturday afternoon at Coyer Field. The game also doubled as the Team Molly Game for both teams, with all of the proceeds going to benefit rare cancer research.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Cortland opened the game by scoring 11 goals in the opening quarter to take a 11-0 lead after one.
-The Red Dragons extended their lead to 13-0, before Fineour connected with Schultheis for a transition goal for the Bengals.
-Cortland added a pair of goals in the final four minutes of the half to lead 15-1 at halftime.
-The Red Dragons scored the first four goals of the second half, outscoring the Bengals 4-0 in the third quarter.
-Wachna netted her 18
th goal of the season to make it 19-2, powering a shot into the bottom corner as she was being fouled by a Cortland defender.
-Cortland wrapped up the scoring with four goals in the final period.
FOR THE FOES
-Lauren Hopsicker had three goals and four assists, Hannah Keech recorded three goals and three assists, and Matisyn Schaut scored twice and had three assists to lead Cortland.
-Fifteen different players scored a goal for the Red Dragons.
