ROCHESTER, NY – The Buffalo State volleyball team wrapped up play at the Rochester Invitational on Saturday, falling in a pair of matches against host Rochester and Penn State Behrend.
GAME ONE BASICS

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Angelina Scichilone (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East) and Eden Harrison (Eldersburg, MD/Century) led the Bengals with 11 kills each.
- Jenna Hugenschmidt (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) paced the Buffalo State defense with 33 digs.
- Riley Domin (Getzville, NY/Williamsville South) dished out 21 assists, and also had five aces.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Leading 11-10 in the opening, Rochester used a 9-3 run to take control of the set.
- In the second set, the Bengals won 17 of the final 18 points to even up the match.
- Rochester won the third set, but Buffalo State forced a fifth set by taking the fourth one.
- The Yellowjackets led the fifth set 12-6, but a four-point run by the Bengals, including two kills by Scichilone, closed the deficit. That was as close as it would get; however, as Rochester won three of the final four points.
FOR THE FOES
- Sonia McGaffigan led Rochester with 16 kills in the match.

FINAL SCORE: Penn State Behrend – 3, Buffalo State – 2
SET SCORES: 25-21, 22-25, 17-25, 25-20, 16-14

RECORDS: Penn State Behrend (1-0), Buffalo State (1-2)
INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Harrison led the Bengals with 12 kills in game two, while Samantha Coakley had 11 kills and a team-high 21 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Penn State Behrend won the opening set by a score of 25-21.
- The Bengals responded by winning the next two sets, led by a pair of aces by Domin and multiple kills by Myah Platler (Syracuse, NY/Solvay).
- The Bengals were unable to close out the match, as Penn State Behrend won the fourth set.
- The Lions won a tense fifth set that went to a tie-breaker to take the match.
FOR THE FOES
Hannah Phillips led Penn State Behrend with 13 kills.
