PITTSTON, PA – The Buffalo State men's hockey team dropped a non-conference contest on the road to King's College by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday evening.

• Nikita Kozyrev (Tallinn, Estonia/Springfield Jr. Blues) and Joel Frazee (Monroe, MI/Shreveport Mudbugs) both scored for Buffalo State.
• Parker Allison (Dallas, TX/Neepawa Natives), Jackson Barrett (Zionsville, IN/Northland College), A.J. Marinelli (Amherst, NY/Lockport Regals), and Tyler Vanuden (Fort Frances, ON/Finlandia University) registered assists.
• Riley Moyer (East Amherst, NY/San Diego Sabers) stopped 28 shots in goal.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Neither team was able to gain the advantage in the opening minutes of the game, as King's blocked numerous Buffalo State shot attempts in the first period.
• The Bengals finally broke through with 2:36 remaining in the frame, as Marinelli sent a long pass through the neutral zone to Frazee, who skated around a defender and netted the opener past a diving Monarchs' goalie.
• Buffalo State doubled its advantage in the final seconds with Vanuden carrying the puck through a wave of defenders, and finding Kozyrev in front of the net for a tap in.
• King's responded early in the second period, as a shot from the point took a deflection past Moyer.
• The Monarchs scored two more goals in the frame to take a 3-2 advantage into the second intermission.
• Buffalo State was unable to find an equalizer in the third period, and the Monarchs iced the game with an empty-net goal in the final minute.

 
FOR THE FOES

• Casey Gerstein scored two goals to lead King's to victory, while Tyler Sayger stopped 30 shots in goal.
