BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's basketball team earned their first conference win of the season in a 60-53 victory over the Fredonia Blue Devils at the Sports Arena.

- Tashawni Cornfield (Gowanda, NY/Putham) registered a double-double performance with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
- Jadyn Jones (Gowanda, NY/Lake Shore) also scored double figures with 15 points.
- Brianna Smith (Oakfield, NY/Oakfield) led the team with six assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams came out to compete and were knotted at 11-11 after the first quarter.
- After a 7-0 run in the second, Fredonia would go into the half up 30-25.
- The Bengals dominated the third quarter as they outscored Fredonia 19-7; capped off by a Cornfield three-pointer and a fast break layup from Josie Fleming (Clarence, NY/Clarence)
- With 10 minutes to play, the Bengals had a 44-37 lead.
- Buffalo State's offense pulled away in the final quarter and were able to cruise to a "Battle by the Lake" victory.
FOR THE FOES
- Renee Park led the Blue Devils with 19 points.
- Allie Wandell had six points and a team high 14 rebounds.
