BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's soccer team came away with a 3-0 win over Alfred State on Senior Night to finish off the regular season tonight on Coyer Field.

- Kaylee Valentic (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda), Heather Moriarty (Mount Morris, NY/Keshequa Central), and Elle Bush (Middleboro, MA/Middleboro) each scored for Buffalo State.
- Bush, Elsa Graf (Pulaski, NY/Sandy Creek), and Ryan Berman (River Edge, NJ/River Dell) each tallied an assist.
- Addy Williams (Grapevine, TX/Grapevine) and Moira Penot (Clifton Heights, PA/Upper Darby) combined for five saves to keep the shutout.
- For Senior Night, the team celebrated Moriarty, Graf, Gia Dilimone (Grand Island, NY/Sacred Heart), Carm Mercurio (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy), and Faye Panagopoulos (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore West).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals got the scoring started in the first half as Valentic scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season off a beautiful corner kick from Berman.
- Buffalo State struck again shortly after as Moriarity found the net after a bounce-back save from Bush's initial shot.
- Both sides would remain quiet for the remainder of the half.
- The Bengals offense wasn't done yet in the second half as Graf passed the ball across the field for Bush to hook shot the ball into the back of the net.
- The Pioneers had a few opportunities late in the action, however, the Bengals defense and goaltending held strong to post their seventh shutout of the season.
- The Bengals dominated offensively outshooting the Pioneers 20-7.
FOR THE FOES
- Erin Drewiega led the Pioneers with two shots.
- Kate Sproul and Sierra Schofield combined for nine saves in the effort.
SEASON OVERVIEW
The Bengals finished the season at 7-6-4 (1-5-3 SUNYAC) on the year, passing their win total from last season. Buffalo State also scored 39 goals this season, the most in a single season since at least 2006. The team's seven shutouts are the most in a single season since 2019.
