BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's basketball team dominated in their non-conference win against Hilbert College tonight with a final score of 70-40 at the Sports Arena.

- Kirsten Merritt (Cortland, NY/Cortland) chipped in a career-high 11 points while Maddy Stearns (Clarence, NY/Clarence) added 10 of her own.
- Buffalo State was 4-6 (66.7%) from the free throw line.
- The team also made a season-high eight three-pointers with tallying 18 steals and 18 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals offense came out firing scoring 11 of the first 14 total points.
- Hilbert rallied off 12 straight points to lead 15-13 after the first quarter.
- Buffalo State found their rhythm again late in the second as the team scored the final five points to lead at halftime, 32-26.
- The Bengals dominated in the third quarter allowing just one point on a free throw from Hilbert and outscoring the Hawks 24-1.
- Buffalo State continued to dominate defensively as they grew their lead to a game-high 32 points before closing out the victory.
- In total, the Hawks out-rebounded the Bengals with a 46-37 margin.
FOR THE FOES
- Kelsey Schlagenhauf led the Hawks with 10 points.
- Kayla Johnson had a team-high nine rebounds in the effort.
