BUFFALO, NY – Marcus Cumberworth (Surrey, BC/Olds Grizzlys) stopped 40 shots in goal for his first career shutout, and the Bengals provided five goals of support in a 5-0 victory for the Buffalo State men's hockey team over Potsdam in SUNYAC action on Saturday evening.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Cumberworth's 40 saves were one shy of matching his career high, set last night in the victory over No. 2 Plattsburgh State. He also added his first career point with an assist.
- Joe Glamos (Baldwinsville, NY/New Jersey Titans) and Vadim Kiriakov (Tyumen, Russia/ Altay Ust-Kamenogorsk) both scored for the second consecutive game, while Kiriakov also recorded an assist.
- Five different players scored for Buffalo State, including Jake Meure (Fremont, CA/Ogden Mustangs), Jared Figueroa (Scotch Plains, NJ/Florida Eels), and Jason Kwestel (Rockaway, NJ/Valley Wildcats). Kwestel recorded an assist as well.
- Chris Blango (Chadds Ford, PA/Philadelphia Little Flyers) had a pair of assists for the second straight night, while Connor Bizal (Elk River, MN/Boston Jr. Rangers) also had two assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- For the second straight night, Buffalo State scored quickly to take an early lead, as Meure scored from just below the left circle off a cross-ice feed from Tyler Penree (New Hartford, NY/Vermont Lumberjacks).
- Glamos poked in a rebound off an initial shot from Kwestel at 13:11 of the first period to double the Buffalo State advantage.
- Figueroa scored on a breakaway off a perfect feed from in front of the Bengals' goal from Blango in the final three minutes of the first period to give the Bengals a 3-0 lead.
- Cumberworth stopped all 15 shots he faced in the frame to help Buffalo State lead by three at the intermission.
- The Bengals added a fourth goal in the final four minutes of the second period, as Kwestel was able to deposit his first career goal into the net from below the left circle after a cross-ice feed from Bizal.
- Cumberworth once again stopped 15 shots in the second period to maintain the shutout.
- Kiriakov completed the scoring late in the third period, taking another breakout pass from Blango and ripping a wrist shot into the far left corner of the net.
FOR THE FOES
- Jack Loran had seven shots to lead the Bears.
