Women's Basketball Falls to Brockport in Season Finale

BROCKPORT, NY – The Buffalo State women's basketball team finished the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 69-54 loss to Brockport.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The teams traded baskets in the early portion of the game, with Brockport holding a 13-8 lead late in the first quarter.
  • A jumper by Riley Domin (Getzville, NY/Williamsville South) and a layup by Atty in the final seconds closed the gap to one point at the end of the quarter.
  • The Bengals opened the second quarter by scoring eight straight points on three baskets by Adiya Jones and one by Jadyn Jones.
  • Brockport responded with a 20-6 run over the final seven minutes of the half to lead 33-26 at halftime.
  • Buffalo State opened the third quarter with a pair of 3-pointers by Jadyn Jones and Cohen, and eventually took a 37-35 lead after a layup by Emily Goodstal (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley).
  • Another run by the Golden Eagles turned the Bengals' two-point edge into a nine-point deficit at the end of three quarters.
  • Brockport outscored Buffalo State 17-11 in the fourth quarter to earn the victory.
