BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's hockey team finished up the regular season on Saturday afternoon with an 8-0 loss to nationally-third ranked Plattsburgh at the Ice Arena.

• Jessica Auge (Laingsburg, MI/Honeybaked Detroit) stopped 58 shots in goal for the Bengals.
• Angelina Cruzal (Campbell, CA/San Jose Jr. Sharks) led Buffalo State with four shots on goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Plattsburgh opened the scoring with a goal 4:48 into the first period off a shot that snuck past Auge and a Bengals' defender was unable to clear the puck off the goal line.
• The Cardinals added a pair of goals in the final five minutes of the period to lead 3-0 at the first intermission.
• Plattsburgh added two more goals in the second period, including a short-handed goal.
• The Cardinals netted twice in the opening four minutes of the third period, and a final tally with under four minutes left in the game.

 
FOR THE FOES

• Sierra Benjamin and Ivy Boric each recorded three assists, while Julia Masotta scored two goals for the Cardinals.

• Buffalo State finishes the season with a 7-18-0 overall record (1-17-0 NEWHL).
• The Bengals improved on last year's win total by six games, and earned their first conference victory since February 22, 2020.
