BUFFALO, NY – Marybeth Nugent has resigned as head women's basketball coach at Buffalo State University, Renee Carlineo, Director of Athletics, announced Tuesday.
In her five years (four seasons) at the helm, Nugent led the Bengals to a 45-57 overall record, including back-to-back SUNYAC Tournament appearances in the 2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons. She coached four SUNYAC All-Conference selections, as well as a pair of D3Hoops.com All-Americans.
"I want to thank Marybeth for her five years of quality service and mentorship," said director of athletics Renee Carlineo. "We have an excellent group of student-athletes and I am confident that we will find a strong leader to guide this program. I look forward to watching our women's basketball program continue to grow under new guidance next season."
A national search to find the next coach will commence in the coming weeks.
