BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's basketball team fell short against the Oneonta Red Dragons this afternoon, 71-69, in a SUNYAC matchup at the Sports Arena.

- Emma Cohen (Utica, NY/TR Proctor) led the Bengals on offense with 21 points.
- Kirsten Merritt (Cortland, NY/Cortland) set a new career-high with 18 points as well as snagging five steals.
- Maddy Stearns (Clarence, NY/Clarence) led the Bengals with four assists and five rebounds.
- As a team, the Bengals shot 72.2% (13-18) from the free throw line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first quarter was a back-and-forth affair with Buffalo State holding a narrow 16-14 lead.
- Oneonta opened the second quarter with a quick 4-2 run, however, the Bengals responded with a quick five points to retake the lead.
- The Red Dragons carried the lead into halftime with a score 29-28.
- The Bengals took the lead back in the third and led by our heading into the final ten minutes of action.
- Buffalo State carried a ten point lead into the final minutes, however, the Red Dragons capped off the comeback with a 12-0 run to secure the win in the final seconds.
FOR THE FOES
- Molly Stephens led the Red Dragons with 29 points including going 6-11 from three-point range.
- Jenna Harclerode and Nadia Brown also scored in double figures for Oneonta.
