Women's Basketball Falls Late To Oneonta

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's basketball team fell short against the Oneonta Red Dragons this afternoon, 71-69, in a SUNYAC matchup at the Sports Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first quarter was a back-and-forth affair with Buffalo State holding a narrow 16-14 lead.
  • Oneonta opened the second quarter with a quick 4-2 run, however, the Bengals responded with a quick five points to retake the lead.
  • The Red Dragons carried the lead into halftime with a score 29-28.
  • The Bengals took the lead back in the third and led by our heading into the final ten minutes of action.
  • Buffalo State carried a ten point lead into the final minutes, however, the Red Dragons capped off the comeback with a 12-0 run to secure the win in the final seconds.
FOR THE FOES
  • Molly Stephens led the Red Dragons with 29 points including going 6-11 from three-point range.
  • Jenna Harclerode and Nadia Brown also scored in double figures for Oneonta.
