BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's hockey team dropped a SUNYAC contest at home to Canton by a score of 4-1 on Friday evening at the Ice Arena.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Grace Zwolak (Stoney Creek, ON/Niagara Falls Rapids) scored the lone Buffalo State, her second of the season.
- Carys Ursell (Calgary, AB/Calgary Fire) and Rylee Garrow (Awkesasne, QC/St. Lawrence Steel) each recorded an assist. Garrow also won 11 of 16 faceoffs for Buffalo Staet.
- Jessica Auge (Laingsburg, MI/Honeybaked Detroit) stopped 30 shots in goal for the Bengals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Canton opened the scoring just over five minutes into the first period, as Danika Lalonde snapped a wrist shot past Auge after a scrum in front of goal.
- The Bengals took advantage of their first power-play opportunity with a rebound goal, as Garrow's shot from the point was deflected by Ursell in front, and Zwolak sent the rebound through the legs of the Canton goalie to even the score at 1-1 at 12:31 of the period.
- The Roos broke the tie in the final minute, as Lalonde scored her second goal of the game off a wrist shot from the slot.
- Canton added another goal just 42 seconds into the second period after a turnover by a Buffalo State defensemen gave the puck away out front of the Bengals' goal.
- Vanessa Willick (Williamsville, NY/Buffalo Bisons) was hauled down on a breakaway with a hook, but the Bengals were unable to capitalize on the power play. Auge also made a clutch save on a short-handed breakaway for the Roos.
- Early in the third period, Buffalo State killed a 5-on-3 penalty for over 1:30 to keep the score at 3-1.
- Canton netted the final goal of the game with just over three minutes remaining for the 4-1 final score.
FOR THE FOES
- Lalonde's two goals led Canton, while Riley Andzel had a goal and an assist.
