BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's hockey team scored six times in the first period, and skated past visiting Chatham by a final score of 11-2 on Tuesday evening in non-conference action at the Ice Arena. The win was also
Steve Murphy's 100
th career victory as a Bengal, becoming just the second in program history to reach 100 wins.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Joe Glamos (Baldwinsville, NY/New Jersey Titans) led the Bengals with four points, scoring twice and adding two assists.
- Vadim Kiriakov (Tyumen, Russia/Altay Ust-Kamenogorsk) and Jake Meure (Fremont, CA/Ogden Mustangs) each tallied three points on two goals and an assist apiece.
- Aidan LaValley (Champlain, NY/Vermont Lumberjacks), Connor Bizal (Elk River, MN/Boston Jr. Rangers), and Nick Stuckless (Orangeville, ON/Skidmore College) had three assists each.
- Nevin Otis (Sussex, NB/South Shore Lumberjacks) had a goal and an assist, with Jason Kwestel (Rockaway, NJ/Valley Wildcats) and Michael McCosh (Glendale, AZ/New Mexico Ice Wolves) each registering two assists.
- Fourteen different Bengals had at least one point.
- Drew Doran (Orchard Park, NY/Utica University) turned aside 33-of-35 shots in goal for the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kiriakov opened the scoring in the first four minutes, finding himself alone in front of goal after a pass from Glamos, and deking the goaltender.
- Anthony Morin (Greenfield Center, NY/Utica Jr. Comets) netted a power-play goal, knocking a rebound into the back of the net to double the advantage.
- The Cougars responded less than a minute later on a two-on-one opportunity to make it 2-1.
- Meure netted two goals in the span of 1:12, first with a power-play goal from the left slot, and then a backhand to clean up a rebound to make it 4-1.
- Glamos and Chris Blango (Chadds Ford, PA/Philadelphia Little Flyers) both netted goals to complete the scoring for the opening period.
- Kiriakov sent a one-timer into from the right circle into the top left corner of the net just 1:12 into the second period.
- The Cougars scored at the 12:23 mark of the period to cut the lead to 7-2.
- Buffalo State netted four goals in the third period to secure the victory.
- Tyler Penree (New Hartford, NY/Vermont Lumberjacks) poked in the rebound off of LaValley's initial shot under five minutes into the third period.
- Jackson Barrett (Zionsville, IN/Northland College) sent a slap shot from the left point for a goal, followed by a short-handed breakaway goal by Glamos between the legs of the Chatham goalie.
- Otis completed the scoring with his first collegiate goal from the right point to give the Bengals their largest margin of victory since a 10-1 win over Canton in 2015.
