HOW IT HAPPENED
- In their regular season finale, the Bengals came out the gate controlling tempo and play early. A couple early shots for the Bengals had the Statesmen worried, but the Statesmen would respond with their own offensive attack putting the pressure on the Bengals defense.
- Things would remain an even fight, as both teams looked to gain the goal advantage before the halftime whistle. As neither offense was able to get behind each other's defense, both teams would go into halftime tied at 0.
- The second half would continue the same fight, with each team looking to generate chances at the net. Play started to intensify late into the second half…but on a breezy night at Coyer Field, the Bengals and the Statesmen were unable to get the game-winning goal, finishing today's non-conference bout in a 0-0 draw.
- The Bengals were outshot by the Statesmen 15 to 12, with five shots on net for the Statesmen, to the Bengals two.
