ALFRED, NY – The Buffalo State women's wrestling team opened their season as they competed at the Pioneer Open hosted by Alfred State this afternoon at the Orvis Gym.
 
The Bengal Breakdown

• Buffalo State opened things in their program debut facing Alfred State, Utica, Cornell Wrestling Club, Lehigh Wrestling Club, Crown City, and Binghamton Wrestling Club.
• Brooke Tarshis (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) posted the best finish for the Bengals placing second in the 131 bracket.
• Lena Tumusabire (Buffalo, NY/Math, Science, Technology Preparatory School) and Kai Douglas (Buffalo, NY/New Visions Charter) each took third in their respective brackets.
