HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In this consolation game matchup, the Bengals looked to answer after a tough outing against the Lions. Opening the first half, the Bengals caught fire, hitting four three-pointers in the beginning five minutes of play. This hot shooting helped the Bengals climb up to a lead as big as 20-points, but a late surge by the Wolves carried this game into 14-point deficit with the Bengals leading 56-42. The Bengals shot 60.0% from the field in the first half, while shooting 57% from the three-point arc and 85% from the free-throw line.
  • The second half would be another story for the Bengals...with the Wolves coming out strong and collapsing the Bengals lead to tying the game at 58-58. However, credit to the resiliency of this Bengals team, they didn't crumble at the sight of their lead decreasing but answered back, hitting some great shots to climb the game back into a 11-point lead. This would be enough for the Bengals to hold off the Wolves surge and leave the tournament as today's consolation game winners. The Bengals shot 28% from the field in the second-half, while shooting 84% from the free-throw line.
FOR THE FOES
  • Will Tehan led the Wolves in scoring with 22 points, with Akinlana Popoola chipping in with 21 points. Tehan also led the Wolves with rebounds, bringing down nine boards.
