HOW IT HAPPENED
- Like the women's team, the men's basketball team looked to finish out their first half of the season in winning ways, traveling to Alfred University in hopes of one last road win. The first half saw the Bengals come out strong, stifling the Saxons with excellent defense and scoring with ease. Credit to the Saxons though, as they would respond with a strong offense as well, going shot for shot midway in the half. After taking a six-point lead, the Bengals would go on a 11-0 run to close the first half and walk into halftime up 14-points over the Saxons'.
- The second half would be a struggle for the Bengals, with the Saxons opening the half on a 5-0 run, bringing this matchup into single digits. As the half would continue, the Bengals would struggle to find baskets while the Saxons would take advantage of the Bengals misses, tying the game at 35-35. With a continuous back and forth game that saw each team fight for supremacy, the Saxons would do just enough to close the door on the Bengals, making a miraculous comeback and stealing this game from the Bengals hands.
FOR THE FOES
- Zion Baitey led the Saxons in scoring with 15 points, with Tyler Hind and Oscar Wolter each getting into the double digits in scoring.
- Amoi Charles would lead all players with ten rebounds in the game.
