BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's basketball team earned their first win of the season tonight with a thrilling 63-61 win over Potsdam at the Sports Arena.

	- Matt Parkinson (Springfield Gardens, NY/John Browne) led the Bengals with 16 points.
- Nigel Burch (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek) had 14 points while Maley McCurty (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) had a team-high 10 rebounds.
- Before the game, the team recognized Jaiden Allen (Marlboro, NY/Marlboro) for their Senior Day festivities.
- In addition, the team also celebrated the career of Head Coach Fajri Ansari is his final home game at the Sports Arena.
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- The Bengals opened action tonight with an 18-12 start.
- After Potsdam knotted things up at 21, the Bengals closed the half on a 12-5 run to take the lead into halftime at 33-26.
- The Bears came out firing in the second half with an 11-3 start to make the score 37-37.
- The Bengals later began to pull away growing their lead to 13 following a three-pointer from Remi Skvorc (San Roque, Spain/Sotogrande International).
- Potsdam rallied late and shrunk the lead to just one with just over two minutes left to play.
- Buffalo State found their rhythm again as Bryce Williams (Jamaica, NY/Campus Magnet) found Burch for a breakaway dunk to give the Bengals a four point lead with under one minute to go.
- After a Potsdam timeout, the Bears put up a final shot at the buzzer, but the Bengals were able to hang on for the victory.
FOR THE FOES
	- Parker Kelly led Potsdam with 21 points and six rebounds.
- Jeff Williamson chipped in 19 points in the effort.
