Women's Hockey Drops Season Finale to Oswego

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's hockey team ended the season with a 4-1 loss to Oswego on Saturday afternoon at the Ice Arena on Senior Day.

  • Miya Silva (El Monte, CA/Anaheim Lady Ducks) scored the Buffalo State goal, her second goal of the season.
  • Jessica Auge (Laingsburg, MI/Honeybaked Detroit) made 33 saves in goal for the Bengals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Just past the midway point of the first period, Oswego took the lead on a deflected pass off the skate of Kensie Malone, who was credited with the goal for the Lakers.
  • Oswego scored three goals in the second period, including a pair of power-play goals in the span of 90 seconds to extend the lead to 4-0 after two periods.
  • Mack Hull made it 2-0 midway through the second off a two-on-one break for the Lakers at 10:29.
  • Leah Coley scored a power-play goal on a shot from the point into the left corner of the net, then Sopia Kyrkostas knocked in a rebound for another power-play goal.
  • Silva intercepted a pass from an Oswego defenseman late in the third period, then scored on a breakaway with 1:07 remaining.
 
FOR THE FOES
  • Hull, Coley, and Kyrkostas each had a goal and an assist.
