Nick Stuckless Scores Overtime Winner to Lift Men's Hockey Over Post, 3-2

BUFFALO, NY – Nick Stuckless (Orangeville, ON/Skidmore College) scored the game-winning goal in the final minute of overtime to lift the Buffalo State men's hockey team to a 3-2 victory over Post on Alumni Night on Saturday evening.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
  • Vadim Kiriakov (Tyumen, Russia/ Altay Ust-Kamenogorsk) led the Bengals with a goal and an assist.
  • Joe Glamos (Baldwinsville, NY/New Jersey Titans) also scored for Buffalo State.
  • Drew Doran (Orchard Park, NY/Utica University) made 17 saves in goal for the victory.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Glamos got the Bengals on the board just over two minutes into the first period, deking a defenseman and sliding a backhand past the Post goaltender.
  • The Bengals outshot the Eagles 9-3 in the first period, but only led 1-0 at intermission.  
  • The Eagles scored twice in just over a minute in the second period to take a 2-1 lead into the intermission.
  • Kiriakov netted the tying goal for the Bengals early in the third period, tapping a pass from Jake Meure (Fremont, CA/Ogden Mustangs) into the goal as he was falling down.
  • The Bengals outshot Post in the third period 14-8, but were unable to find the winning goal in regulation.
  • In overtime, the Bengals controlled play, and had multiple scoring opportunities but were stopped by the goaltender multiple times.
  • Stuckless netted the winner with a wrist shot from the left slot into the top right corner of the net after Kiriakov sent a drop pass back to him in the final minute.
 
FOR THE FOES
  • Zach Richards made 36 saves in goal for the Eagles.
 
UP NEXT
The Bengals are back in action on Feb. 9 at home against Brockport for Senior Night.
