CORTLAND, NY – The Buffalo State men's basketball team fell short in a comeback bid to New Paltz by a final score of 74-69 on Tuesday evening. The game was played at SUNY Cortland in order to accommodate travel to make up the contest from January 13 that was postponed due to inclement weather in Buffalo.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
	- Nigel Burch (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek) led Buffalo State with 18 points and five assists.
 
	- Matt Parkinson (Springfield Gardens, NY/John Browne) chipped in 13 points.
 
	- Corcel Smallhorne (Queens Village, NY/The Martin Luther School) scored 12 points.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- The Bengals came out firing early, holding a 10-2 lead after three basketball by Maley McCurty (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) and four points by Burch.
 
	- The Hawks rallied to tie the score at 20-20 midway through the half.
 
	- Smallhorne's jumper helped Buffalo State build the lead up to seven, and Parkinson finished a layup in the final seconds to give the Bengals a 39-34 advantage at halftime.
 
	- New Paltz began the second half on a 12-2 run to take the lead for the first time in the game.
 
	- The Hawks extended their lead to as many as 14 with just over seven minutes remaining.
 
	- The Bengals then began to rally, cutting the lead to five after a 9-0 run with two minutes left.
 
	- However, Buffalo State was unable to get a defensive stop, and the Hawks extended the lead back up to eight to secure the victory.
 
 
FOR THE FOES
	- Tyreik Frazier scored 14 points to lead New Paltz.
 
	- Alex Krupinski and Rylan Blondo were each in double figures, with 13 and 11 points respectively.
