NEW YORK CITY, NY – The Buffalo State men's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday, falling in straight sets to No. 12 N.Y.U., before sweeping Ramapo at the NYU Tri-Match.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Chi Jackson (Buffalo, NY/Cheektowaga) extended his double-digit kills streak to six matches, tallying 12 kills on a .440 hitting percentage. He also added five total blocks.
- Gavin Wilczewski (Elma, NY/East Aurora) hit .450 with ten kills and eight digs.
- Hayden McCue (Fairport, NY/Fairport) added six kills and three total blocks.
- Jackson Stang (Tonawanda, NY/Sweet Home) dished out 29 assists, while Alex Nuez (Paterson, NJ/Eastside) led the Bengals with nine digs.
- Nate Lippitt (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) contributed three service aces.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State won the first three points of the opening set thanks to a kill by McCue and two aces by Wilczewski. The Roadrunners responded, and eventually took the lead at 9-7.
- With Ramapo leading 21-19, the Bengals won five straight points thanks to two aces by Lippitt, and a block each by Jackson and Kaden Strong (Buffalo, NY/West Seneca East). Two plays later, Jackson closed the set with a kill.
- The Roadrunners jumped out to a 11-7 lead in the second set, before Buffalo State rallied to tie the score at 12-12.
- With the Bengals leading 17-16, Jackson had two solo blocks to lead a 4-0 Buffalo State run. Stang closed out the set with a setter dump for a kill shortly after.
- The Bengals led from start to finish in the third set, started with a three-point run that included kills by Wilczewski and Jackson.
- The Roadrunners closed to within three at 17-14, before McCue and Jackson sparked a 3-0 run to build a cushion and cruise to a 25-19 victory.

- Reece Kirchofer led Ramapo with 14 digs.

- Jackson had 13 kills for Buffalo State.
- Wilczewski had a team-high 11 digs, while Nuez had 10 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Violets jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the first set. Buffalo State closed to within one point at 19-18 thanks to a 6-0 run that included a kill and an ace by Jake Woelfel (Buffalo, NY/West Seneca West), before N.Y.U. went on a 6-2 run to close out the set.
- The Bengals led early in the second set, before the Violets jumped ahead 17-14. Buffalo State closed to within one point after a combo block by Stang and Strong and an ace by Nuez, but the Bengals couldn't complete the comeback and dropped the second set 25-20.
- Buffalo State fell behind 7-4 in the third set, and could never pull back even in falling in the third set.
FOR THE FOES
- Lucas Osieki and Luke Boyer each tallied 10 kills for N.Y.U.
