GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – The Buffalo State women's volleyball concluded their three-match trip to Puerto Rico earlier today and was unable to capture its first victory of the season, dropping a straight-set decision against North Park before falling in five sets against Widener.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Ella Wittman (Cheektowaga/Springville Griffith) belted 10 of the Bengals' 22 kills in the first match of the day and added a pair of aces.
- Maddie Hannon (Williamsville/Williamsville North) paced the Bengals with 15 digs, and April Jakubowski (Lancaster/Lancaster) had a team-high 11 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- North Park hit 24 percent, compared to just 5 percent by Buffalo State, and had 40 kills, while the Bengals only mustered 22.
FOR THE FOES
- Adriana Rodriguez paced North Park with 15 kills, and Shamyia Collier had 10.
- Kendal Britton posted 21 assists.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Wittman led three Bengals with double-digit kills with 19, while Samantha Coakley (Lockport/Lockport) had 11 and Nicole Delli Colli (Rye/Rye) had 10. Wittman also had 16 digs, and Coackley had 11 digs and four aces.
- Jakubowski dished out 24 assists while Karlie Shaffer (Smithtown/Smithtown East) had 20, and Hannon had 30 digs and three aces.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals started fast with a 25-19 win on the opening set, but then dropped a pair to put their back against the wall.
- Buffalo State answered in the fourth set, blitzing its way to a 25-11 win that including a 16-3 run to start.
- The Bengals led 11-9 in the deciding set, but Widener strung together a 6-2 run to close out the win.
- Buffalo State held the advantage in nearly every statistical category other than blocks where Widener had a 9-2 edge.
FOR THE FOES
- Campbell Chronister led Widener with 31 assists and had 16 digs.
