BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's hockey team fell to the #10 Cortland Red Dragons in overtime with a final score of 2-1 at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Both sides were in a stalemate for the opening period of action.
  • The Bengals were able to get the first opportunity as Gould found the back of the net to score her third goal of the season with just under three minutes left in the period.
  • Cortland bounced-back quickly with an even strength goal early in the second period to make the score 1-1.
  • Buffalo State turned up the offensive pressure in the third period but were unable to find the back of the net. Auge made crucial saves down the stretch to keep the Bengals in the action.
  • After a late Buffalo State penalty, the Red Dragons carried a power play opportunity into overtime where Fanny Aneborn scored the winning goal off a pass from Katie Mahoney.
  • Overall, Cortland outshot the Bengals 38-27.
 
FOR THE FOES
  • Morgan Raymond scored for the Red Dragons with Meggan Cramer picking up the assist.
  • Molly Goergen made 26 saves in goal for Cortland.
