UTICA, NY – The Buffalo State women's wrestling team went 1-2 at the inaugural Utica Duals this afternoon earning a win over Maine Maritime Academy despite falling to host-Utica and the Alfred State Pioneers at Miga Court at the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium.

The Bengal Breakdown

• The Bengals earned the win over Maine Maritime with a score of 35-5 while Utica earned a narrow 23-21 win and Alfred State won with a score of 35-10.
• Against Maine Maritime, Rosaliz Aponte (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia) earned a pin while the Bengals scored the rest of their points on forfeits.
• Against Utica, the Pioneers took control early with a running score of 23-6. Buffalo State picked up 15 points late due to forfeits, but ultimately fell just short of the win.
• Aponte picked up another pin against Alfred State, but the Pioneers were able to pick up four pins of their own to win the head-to-head matchup.
