Men's Hockey Earns Win Over Keene State At Outdoor Classic

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's hockey team scored three goals in the third period as they came away with a 4-2 victory over the Keene State Owls tonight at the Buffalo Riverworks Outdoor Classic.

  • Drayton Todoroff (Jackson, MI/Amarillo Wranglers), David Tolan (LaVerne, CA/Danbury Hat Tricks), and Aiden Dufault (Narol, NB/Amherst Ramblers) each scored for the Bengals with Dufault's being his first as a Bengal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Kiriakov kept his strong season going with the opening goal of the evening after a rebound shot attempt from Joonas Linnavuori (Helsinki, Finland/Wilkes Barre-Scranton Knights).
  • The Owls responded with goal late in the period to even the score despite having only three shots in the period.
  • Both sides were unable to find the back of the net in the second period to keep the score tied entering the final 20 minutes of play.
  • Todoroff sniped a shot from the top of the zone to give Buffalo State the lead in the third.
  • After a Bengal penalty, the Owls responded quickly with another game-tying goal.
  • Late in the period, Tolan scored to give the Bengals the lead for good.
  • Dufault sealed the deal with an empty net goal from across the rink to give the Bengals their second straight Outdoor Classic win.
 
FOR THE FOES
  • Chase Carney and Luke Festa each scored for Keene State.
  • Ben Skelton made 37 saves in goal in the effort.
 
UP NEXT
The Bengals return to action on Tuesday as they will travel to Fredonia for a "Battle by the Lake" matchup.
