HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Buffalo State Bengals entered this matchup against the Oswego State Lakers looking to regain their winning ways. Entering the first quarter, the Bengals irritated the Lakers with tough defensive play, keeping points at a premium. At the midway point of the quarter, the Bengals were tied with the Lakers, before the Lakers defense tighten up on the Bengals. As the quarter finished, the Lakers would lead by one-point on the Bengals, heading into the second quarter.
- In the second quarter, both teams' offenses would begin to get their feet under them, with back-and-forth scoring by both teams. With the Lakers up five on the Bengals, a late rally from the Bengals would crack into the Lakers lead, only trailing by one-point heading into halftime.
- In the third quarter, things began to look bleak for the Bengals as the Lakers took advantage early and often in the quarter. Going on a 13-0 run to open the quarter, the Bengals would find themselves down by 14-points midway in the quarter. As the Bengals would try to chip into the Lakers lead, the Lakers would withhold the blows and enter the fourth quarter with a 14-point lead on the Bengals.
- In the fourth quarter, the Bengals would do their best to get this game within single digits but the Lakers attack was too much to handle, as the Bengals would struggle to get this game under a 20-point lead…and would fall at the hands of the Lakers by 24-points.
FOR THE FOES
- Macey DeOrdio led the Lakers in scoring with 18 points, with Shania Iglesias chipped in with 17 points.
