HOW IT HAPPENED
- Coming into this matchup, the Bengals looked to finish off their SUNYAC road-trip with a strong win against the Cortland Red Dragons. As the first quarter began, the Bengals saw themselves trailing early with the Red Dragons opening-up play on a 10-0 run. Credit to the Bengals for standing tough, with stout defense and opportunistic offensive chances, the Bengals would rally through the quarter and trail by three-points entering the second quarter.
- Unfortunately for the Bengals, the Red Dragons would takeover from this point forward as they would hold the Bengals to six points in the second quarter, putting the Bengals at a 20-point deficit as they entered halftime.
- Things wouldn't be easier for the Bengals coming out of halftime, as the Red Dragons would open the quarter on a 14-0 run, before the Bengals were able to get on the board. The end of the third quarter would find the Bengals deficit grow to 37-points…and it would prove to be too much to comeback from in the fourth quarter, as the Bengals would drop this SUNYAC matchup by 41-points.
FOR THE FOES
- Joleen Lusk led all scorers and rebounders, tallying a double-double in this matchup with 18-points and 10 rebounds.
