HOW IT HAPPENED
- After falling to the Cortland Red Dragons last night, the Buffalo State Bengals looked to rebound on the road against the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs.
- The opening set saw both teams trade points early before a four-point rally gave the Bengals the advantage. The Mustangs responded with a five-point run of their own to reclaim the lead. Another stretch of back-and-forth scoring kept the set tight until a late three-point Bengals rally pushed them ahead to secure the first set.
- In the second set, the Bengals fell behind early as the Mustangs opened with a seven-point run to take control. However, the Bengals remained composed and battle-tested, countering with five- and three-point rallies to even the score midway through. A tightly contested finish saw the Bengals keep their momentum rolling with another three-point rally to close out the set and move within one of a sweep.
- In the third and final set, the Bengals dominated from the start, jumping out to an early lead before back-to-back four-point rallies sealed the deal. With the win, the Bengals earned its first SUNYAC victory of the season, sweeping the Mustangs on the road.
