THE MATCHUP… Buffalo State looks to finish their 2025 campaign on a high note as they will travel to Hobart to battle the Statesmen. The Statesmen are 8-3 all-time against the Bengals following a 31-3 victory last season.

THE BENGALS' LAST GAME… Last time out, the Bengals fell to short in their comeback effort against St. Lawrence with a 24-19 final.

Amir Cameron (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) had 82 passing yards with an interception. Otho Cox (Nyack, NY/Nyack) had five catches for 106 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side, Sincere Green (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown) led the way with 11 total tackles while Tajkeoni Ryan (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) had a pair of sacks and a forced fumble.

St. Lawrence opened the day with a touchdown on their opening drive. The Saints added another score in the second quarter to carry a 14-0 lead into halftime. After St. Lawrence added a field goal and another touchdown, Jeadi Higdon (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) returned a kickoff 80 yards for the touchdown to get Buffalo State on the board. Despite a pair of touchdowns late in the fourth quarter, the Saints were able to run down the clock and hold off the Buffalo State comeback.

Will Lederman passed for 258 yards while rushing for 84 yards and a touchdown. Cole Phelan had four catches for 113 yards.

LAST TIME WE MET... The two sides last met a year ago as Hobart came away with a dominant victory on Coyer Field.

Noah Kimble (Depew, NY/Lancaster) was 13-20 for 91 yards on the day. Ale Wilson rushed for 46 yards across 12 attempts while also snagging three receptions for 29 yards. Mohamed Sangare led the Bengals defense with 12 tackles and a sack. Basiaka Butcher snagged his second interception of the season.

After Buffalo State began their opening drive, the Bengals got aggressive early going for it on 4th and 4. Mike McGhee intercepted the ball and returned it 67 yards for the pick-six. Both sides would go silent for the rest of the first quarter. Early in the second, the Statesmen were able to add another score and go up 14-0. Butcher got the interception late in the second quarter, but the Bengals did not have any time to capitalize as Hobart led 14-0 at halftime.

Coming out for the second half, Brody Stevens (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) forced a fumble on the return which was recovered by Butcher. The Bengals could not find the endzone as they failed to score on 4th and goal. Buffalo State got another opportunity after a fumble recovery by Stevens. A pair of unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and a Hobart ejection gave the Bengals an opportunity inside enemy territory. The Bengals were able to come away with a field goal as Nick Sciandra nailed his kick from 22 yards out. Hobart was able to add a pair of touchdowns and a field goal in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Tru Styles was 12-18 for 154 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Johnny Harding had seven receptions for 83 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
