HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After falling in their season opener to Alfred University, the Bengals looked to rebound in their latest non-conference matchup against the Nazareth University Golden Flyers.
  • The first quarter opened with a defensive battle, as both teams struggled to find scoring rhythm. After trading baskets throughout the frame, the Bengals gained late momentum but entered the second quarter trailing by one.
  • In the second quarter, the offense opened up for the Golden Flyers, forcing the Bengals to match their pace. A 6–0 Golden Flyers run pushed the deficit to two possessions, but a late Bengals push kept the halftime gap at 10 heading into the break.
  • Coming out of halftime, the Bengals looked to chip away, but the Golden Flyers responded with consistent scoring to maintain a double-digit lead through the third quarter, setting up a needed comeback effort in the fourth.
  • In the final frame, the Bengals continued to fight to stay within reach, but the Golden Flyers held firm. As time expired, the Bengals' comeback fell short, dropping the non-conference matchup to the Golden Flyers on the road.
FOR THE FOES
  • Madalyn Kelly led the Golden Flyers with 18 points, while Katie MacLachlan added 15. MacLachlan finished the night with a double-double, leading all players with 11 rebounds.
