HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a shutout win yesterday over the Hilbert College Hawks, the Bengals looked to replicate that effort and close out their weekend series with a sweep.
- The Bengals came out firing in the opening period, scoring three goals within the first five minutes of play. Despite maintaining heavy pressure in the Hawks' defensive zone throughout the period, they were unable to extend the lead further and entered the first intermission ahead 3-0.
- The second period continued to tilt in the Bengals' favor, as they again controlled play in the offensive zone. The Hawks, however, tightened defensively and held the Bengals off the scoreboard, keeping the deficit at three heading into the second intermission.
- In the third period, the Bengals put the game away for good, striking for four more goals to secure another shutout victory and complete the nonconference weekend sweep in Hamburg.
FOR THE FOES
- In net, Jewely Monford made 59 saves for the Hawks.
