PLATTSBURGH, NY – The Buffalo State men's hockey team fell short in a comeback effort tonight as they fell to Plattsburgh in overtime with a 5-4 final at the Ronald D. Stafford Ice Arena.

- Tyler Penree (New Hartford, NY/Vermont Lumberjacks) and Connor Bizal (Elk River, MN/Boston Jr. Rangers) also scored for Buffalo State.
- Marcus Cumberworth (Surrey, BC/Olds Grizzlys) made 19 saves in net in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Plattsburgh jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first period on a power play opportunity.
- The Cardinals added a pair of goals early in the second period, but Buffalo State was able to bounce-back late as Kwestel and Bizal each scored to cut the Cardinal lead to one.
- After the Cardinals scored an empty net goal in the third period, the Bengals quickly responded with a goal to cut the lead back to one.
- Micale then scored with just nine seconds remaining in the game to force overtime.
- Plattsburgh scored with just under a minute left in overtime to give the Cardinals the win.
FOR THE FOES
- Kevin Weaver-Vitale scored the game-winning goal in overtime.
- Jacob Hearne made 24 saves in goal in the win.
