INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
  • Kaydence Kemp (Niagara Falls, ON, Canada/Niagara Falls Rapids), Laney Harrold (Hubbardston, MA/Portsmouth Abbey) and Sequoia Recollet-Nebenionquit (Naughton, ON, Canada/Sudbury Lady Wolves) all netted a goal in today's matchup, with Harrold and Recollet-Nebenionquit also picking up an assist each.
  • Jessica Auge (Laingsburg, MI/Honeybaked Detroit) finished the day with 27 saves on 31 shots.
  • The Bengals were outshot by the Bears 31 to 25, with the Bears taking 37 wins from the faceoff circle to the Bengals 24.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In their season finale, the Bengals looked to end the season with a strong win on the road in Potsdam. To open the first period, the Bengals looked to rebound from yesterday's game as they attacked the Bears defense early. This attack would lead to a Bengals goal, taking a 1-0 lead midway in the period. However, the Bears would respond to the Bengals aggressive attack, netting home two-goals in the period and putting the Bengals down at intermission by a goal.
  • In the second period, the Bengals wouldn't fair better to the Bears attack, giving up back-to-back goals in the period and facing a three-goal deficit before the third period. While the Bengals would create chances on net, nothing would go in and the Bengals would find themselves still trailing heading into the third period.
  • In the third period, an early power-play chance would give the Bengals a chance to comeback in this matchup, netting a goal within the first 20 seconds of the period. As the Bengals would continue their fight, so would the Bears who created strong looks on net…but it would be the Bengals who'd get on the board once again with a comeback even closer. As the Bengals pushed, the Bears held steady, withstanding an all-out attack from the Bengals and squeaking out this matchup with a win.
FOR THE FOES
  • Kaylee Merrill led the Bears with two-goals, with Rebecca Holmes and Jessika Bullock also scoring a goal.
  • Hannah Barrett was credited with the win, making 22 saves on 25 shots.
