BROCKPORT, NY – Xzavier Goodman (Buffalo, NY/Olmstead) led the Buffalo State indoor track and field team at day one of SUNYAC Championships with a school record and third place mark of 16.59 meters in the weight throw.

The Bengal Breakdown
- Goodman set the school record mark on his fifth throw of the evening, earning himself a third place finish behind Cortland finishing first and second.
- Bryan Honan (Cortland, NY/Cortland) also had a strong showing in the wight throw with a fifth place finish at 15.93 meters.
- Natalia Sawyer (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) will be the top seed at finals tomorrow in both the 60-meter hurdles and 400-meter dash after posting the top time in the prelims. Sawyer will also be seeded fourth in the 200-meter with a time of 25.42.
- Makhia Laster (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter) was the top qualifier in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.13 and will be seeded third in the 60-meter at 7.71 seconds.
- Three Bengal men will compete in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles as Jalil Coppedge was third (Bronx, NY/Ralph R. McKee), Julius Arias (Lackawanna, NY/Lackawanna) was fourth, and Jasiah Cole (Staten Island, NY/Susan E. Wagner) was eighth after prelims.
- The men's distance medley team of Mattia Case (Decatur, IL/MacArthur), Nolan Lyon (North Tonawanda, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield), Sidney Morris (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East), and Christopher Davis (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter) finished seventh with a time of 11:16.49 to close out the first night of competition.
