HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Celebrating Senior Day, the Buffalo State Bengals aimed to deliver a strong performance—not just in honor of their seniors, but also in their first SUNYAC matchup of the season against the Plattsburgh State Cardinals. The Bengals came out firing, netting a quick goal within the first two minutes. Their relentless offensive push continued, adding three more goals late in the first quarter to establish a commanding lead heading into the second.
  • The Bengals maintained their momentum in the second quarter, striking first once again before the Cardinals finally got on the board. However, the Bengals remained in control, capitalizing on strong defensive play to generate scoring opportunities and extending their lead to 8-1 at halftime.
  • A lightning delay extended the break, but the Bengals didn't lose their spark. Despite an early Cardinals goal in the third quarter, Buffalo State responded emphatically with nine unanswered goals, dominating the period and securing a double-digit lead heading into the fourth.
  • In the final quarter, both teams added a goal, but the Bengals controlled possession and sealed their first SUNYAC victory of the season in commanding fashion—making Senior Day even more special.
FOR THE FOES
  • Ashley O'Hara, Abby Guasconi and Caitlin Nash each scored for the Cardinals.
