HOW IT HAPPENED
- After falling to Piedmont University in the first game of their Georgia trip, the Buffalo State women's lacrosse team came out with something to prove against the Berry College Vikings. The Bengals gave up an early goal in the opening minute but quickly flipped the script, rattling off six unanswered goals to seize momentum in the first quarter. Although the Vikings managed two more goals before the end of the frame, the Bengals carried both the lead—and the energy—into the second quarter.
- The Bengals continued to apply pressure in the second, opening with another three-goal burst to stretch their lead to six. The Vikings responded with two goals of their own to stay within striking distance, but the Bengals answered back and entered halftime holding a five-goal advantage.
- Coming out of the break, the Bengals once again struck first, netting three straight goals and shaking the Vikings' defense. Berry responded with a brief two-goal run, but the Bengals quickly countered with two of their own, heading into the fourth quarter with an eight-goal cushion.
- In the final quarter, the Bengals showed no signs of letting up. They closed the game in dominant fashion, scoring four unanswered goals and sealing a decisive 20-9 victory in a true team effort.
