LAST TIME OUT… Last time out, the Bengals competed at SUNYAC Championships where the men finished fifth overall and the women took home fourth. 

Natalia Sawyer (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) earned three individual wins for the Bengals while also taking home the Women's Most Valuable Performer of the Meet. Sawyer crossed the line first in the 60-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash, and 400-meter while also setting the meet record in the 400-meter with a time of 56.58 seconds.

Makhia Laster (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter) and Sidney Morris (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) also took home individual titles as Laster won the long jump at 5.53 meters while Morris won the 800-meter run at 1:57.11. Laster later went on to finish second in the 60-meter sprint.

Jalil Coppedge (Bronx, NY/Ralph R. McKee) shined in his SUNYAC Championship debut taking home second in the 60-meter hurdles with a school record time of 8.37 seconds. Xzavier Goodman (Buffalo, NY/Olmstead) added to his hardware with a second place finish in the shot put at 15.85 meters. Goodman also took third the previous night in the weight throw with a school record mark of 16.59 meters.
 
LAST TIME AT REGIONALS… At AARTFC Regionals a season ago, Sawyer led the way taking home first in the 60-meter hurdles. Sawyer matched a meet record time with a mark of 8.56 seconds. Laster finished sixth in the 60-meter dash and second in the long jump while Goodman took home fifth in the shot put.

As a team, the Bengal men finished tied for 23^rd while the women finished 13^th.
 
THE BENGAL MEN BREAKDOWN… Coppedge and Julius Arias (Lackawanna, NY/Lackawanna) will take on the 60-meter hurdles for the Bengals. In the throws, Goodman will compete in the shot put and weight throw with Honan joining him in the weight throw.

THE BENGAL WOMEN BREAKDOWN… For the women, Sawyer will take on the 60-meter hurdles and the 400-meter dash while Bryanna Herring (Brockport, NY/Brockport) will compete in the shot put.
 
IN THE NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT… Multiple Bengals can be seen in national rankings (top-50) in their respective events:

• Xzavier Goodman – 37^th – Shot Put – 15.85 meters
• Makhia Laster – 13^th – 60-meter Dash – 7.64
• Natalia Sawyer – 16^th – 200-meter Dash – 25.07
• Makhia Laster – 23^rd – 200-meter Dash – 25.13
• Natalia Sawyer – 37^th – 800-meter Run – 2:16.00
• Natalia Sawyer – 12^th – 60-meter Hurdles – 8.77
• Makhia Laster – 10^th – Long Jump – 5.80 meters

ASSESING THE COMPETITION… Buffalo State will square-off against over 50 schools in the region. The Bengals will look to make one final stamp on the indoor season and look to make one final push for a spot at NCAA Indoor Championships next weekend hosted by Nazareth.
