BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's lacrosse team dominated the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs, 23-2, in their latest SUNYAC conference game of the season.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Offensively, Vanessa Willick (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East) led the Bengals with eight-goals and an assist for a nine-point performance in today's contest. Emilee Josker (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) backed her up with six-goals, while Lauren Rinow (Lakeview, NY/Frontier) picked up a six-point day with two-goals and four-assists.
- Also on offense, Sage Running Rabbit (Siksika, AB, Canada/Strathmore) picked up a five-point performance with two-goals and three-assists, with Kira Grzechowiak (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) rounded out the double-digit goal scorers for the Bengals, picking up two-goals and an assist. Hazel Vitko-Woods (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park), Bri Struck (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan Academy), and Carly Barrett (Forestville, NY/Forestville) rounded out the scoring with for the Bengals with one-goal each.
- Defensively, Willick led with eight draw controls and six groundballs, with Rinow racking up five draw controls and five groundballs as well. Rinow also led the Bengals with five caused turnovers, with Running Rabbit backing her up with four and Anastacia Wells (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) forcing three turnovers. In net, Brielle Lum (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) and Moira Penot (Clifton Heights, PA/Upper Darby) split time in net, with Lum making two saves for the Bengals.
- As a team, the Bengals outshot the Mustangs 50-6, with the Bengals pulling down 17 draw controls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Returning to Coyer Field for their Morgan's Message Game, the Buffalo State Bengals looked to put on a strong performance against the visiting SUNY Morrisville Mustangs. Right from the opening whistle, the Bengals came out firing, scoring five unanswered goals to seize early control. Their dominance continued throughout the quarter, adding three more goals to take a commanding eight-goal lead into the second.
- The Bengals kept their foot on the gas in the second quarter, striking just eight seconds in to continue their offensive onslaught. The Bengals aggressive attack proved too much for Morrisville to handle, resulting in another eight-goal burst and a double-digit lead heading into halftime.
- Despite cold and rainy conditions in Buffalo, the Bengals didn't miss a beat after the break. Their defense remained impenetrable, holding the Mustangs scoreless in the third quarter while adding five more goals of their own to extend the lead even further.
- In the final quarter, the Bengals surrendered their first two goals of the game but quickly answered with two more of their own, sealing a dominant victory. With the win, the Bengals extended their win streak and secured the program's first winning season since 2014.
