Laster Repeats As Outdoor Long Jump SUNYAC Champion, Men Finish 7th With Women Taking 8th

CORTLAND, NY – The Buffalo State outdoor track and field teams finished SUNYAC Outdoor Championships today where the men finished seventh overall (56 points) and the women finished eighth overall (33 points).

The Bengal Breakdown
  • Makhia Laster (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter) was the SUNYAC Champion in the long jump with a leap of 5.42 meters. Laster later finished fourth in the 100 meter dash.
  • Xzavier Goodman (Buffalo, NY/Olmstead) took second in the shot put with a mark of 15.74 meters.
  • Bryanna Herring (Brockport, NY/Brockport) also had a strong showing taking home third in the women's hammer throw at 43.23 meters.
  • Gio Ventura (Geneva, NY/Geneva) finished third in the 10,000 meter run at 33:50.70. Noah Holden (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) crossed the line fifth in the 5,000 meter at 16:04.52 with Ventura finishing 8th.
  • Sidney Morris (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East)  took third in the 800-meter run while Zakhiya McQueen (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) was second in the 100m hurdles.
 
UP NEXT
The Bengals will compete at AARTFC Regionals beginning on May 14 at Williams for those who have qualified.
